Witch’s slice (Häxeschnitte)

This is a fun, easy and quick snack to prepare with your kids. The kids will love it and I find it goes down well with a cuppa too. It’s so easy that my four year old can do it almost by herself (except the baking bit).

Recipe for 16 slices (4 people)

  • 100g ground nuts (for example almonds or hazelnuts)
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 125g sweetened condensed milk
  • 16 pieces of Zwieback (rusk), ideally the most common version which is sweetened

Method

Pre-heat oven to 200 C.

In a bowl mix nuts, lemon juice and condenced milk.

Spread the mixture evenly onto the rusks.

Bake in the oven for 5-10 minutes.

Original recipe: Wildeisen

Sorry, I should have linked to it! It’s ‘Kondensmilch gezuckert’, the one that comes in the tube or tin.
